Summary
The episode begins with... OKI!! ...Sort of. The practice match continues - Abe adjusts his stupid catcher's helmet, and Mihashi runs off to the mound, Mihoshi being all like "MIHASHI!!!" Miyagawa is the first batter for Mihoshi, and he stumbles around and acts dopey, not expecting Mihashi to actually be good at this. He eventually gets an out. Kano and Oda have a quick conversation, and Oda finds it strange that Kano believes that Mihashi actually knows what he's doing. Either way, Mihoshi fails to get a point this time around.
Mihoshi's turn to defend, and Tajima's turn to bat! He avoids hitting Kano's hittable balls on purpose, and waits for the forkball, successfully hitting it! He gets on base, and the crowd goes wild, Nishiura proceeding to show how much they've grown to love each other. The next batter is Hanai! Not wanting to look less awesome than Tajima, he waits for the deciding pitch as well... AND FAILS!! Momoe gives the team a lecture about Tajima needing the team's support because of his small size.
Mihashi's pitching again! It's Oda's turn to bat, and he kind-of-sort-of acts like a total fool, getting an out. While Mihoshi continues to bat (including Hatake, out he goes), Kano explains some of Mihashi's awesomeness to Oda, and when Oda tells Kano about how dopey he was being just now, Kano basically flips out! He goes into a dramatic rant about not being taken seriously, and how he MUST win this match in order to prove to himself that he's a better pitcher than Mihashi who is actually awesome! IT'S A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH, YOU GUYS!!!
The inning ends, and no points were earned. Mihashi gets some back-slaps before running off to tell Abe what a swell time he's having. Abe agrees! Will the swell time continue?

Miyagawa looked sort of spooky in the original - he just kept staring off into space like a moron. Also, GTFO, person on the far right!
The shading's a little different, and Sakaeguchi looks slightly less spooky.
Mihashi's... SMILING less.
They made toned down the dramatic Kano scene? NOOOOOOOOOO!!! SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!
