DIGIMON TAMERS

Before I go on about the character this site is all about, perhaps it would be wise to give you a little backstory on the series he's from. So!

DIGIMON, short for Digital Monsters, is a franchise that started out in Japan as little virtual pets that could battle each other. A cartoon series based on it aired in 1999. This show, titled Digimon Adventure, told us the story of a bunch of kids who were transported to a so-called Digital World where they met up with a bunch of Digimon creatures in order to save both the Digital World and their own. Digimon Adventure got a sequel called Digimon Adventure 02 a year later.

With the Digimon Adventure story wrapped up, it was time to come up with a new Digimon series, and thus, in 2001, Digimon Tamers came into existence! This story takes place in a different universe from the Adventure series, complete with its own Real World AND Digital World.

In Tamers, Digimon is an established franchise with a popular card game, much much like the world you and I live in. Here, Digimon were virtual monsters created by a group of nerds back in the 1980s, and these monsters eventually evolved on their own and even started popping up in the real world! A small group of kids partner up with a Digimon each, and go on a mission to save the worlds from the forces of evil and most importantly, have the time of their lives chumming with their Digimon friends.

Quick explanations of terms used in Digimon Tamers:

Blue Card: Regular Digimon cards sometimes transform into these strange magical cards. They can be used to bring Digimon over from the Digital World to the Real World and evolution.

Digivice: Also known as a D-Arc because the nerds who designed it are obsessed with the word 'ark.' A strange little machine that allows the Tamers to track down and communicate with their Digimon, as well as powering them up by using cards.

Card Slash: The act of scanning a Digimon card using a Digivice. It allows Digimon to gain new powers and weapons for a limited time period.

Terriermon is one of the main character Digimon in Tamers. But for more information on him, proceed to the Terriermon section!
